An introduction to the sounds, science and stories of the clarinet with Oliver Shermacher from the Clari Boys.
The Clari Boys is a Sydney based clarinet ensemble that focuses on new and innovative approaches to classical music by filming comedy videos for social media and commissioning several new works for clarinet ensemble.
Oliver Shermacher started learning the clarinet when he was 10. He has played with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, AYO Momentum Ensemble and various Sydney Conservatorium Ensembles. Oliver studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and is in the third year of an undergraduate degree. He aspires to be a dynamic and varied musician - interacting with and expanding on musical mediums outside of the symphony orchestra.
This program, presented in partnership with the Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences, is aimed at primary students (stage 2 – 3).
Students
will be encouraged to develop critical appreciation and listening skills, as they explore the relationships between art, music, sound and technology.
