Allora & Calzadilla at State Library of Victoria

To celebrate Project 26 in the Cowen Gallery, Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla speak with Victoria Lynn about their work Stop, Repair, Prepare: Variations on Ode to Joy for a prepared focussing on the artists’ interest in the social, political, cultural, and aesthetic implications of sound and music. Robert Heather, Manager, Collection Interpretation, State Library of Victoria will welcome and introduce the event.
Victoria Lynn is Director, TarraWarra Museum of Art, and curator of the TarraWarra Biennial 2012: Sonic Spheres which looked at Australian artists engaged with music, sound and voice.
In 2012 and 2010, she was the Visual Arts Curator for the Adelaide Festival and co-convenor of Artists Week. Other recent exhibitions include The Trickster, Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art, Korea 2010; Double Take, the Anne Landa Award for Video and New Media, 2009, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney and turbulence, 3rd Auckland Triennial 2007, New Zealand.
Victoria Lynn has been Director, Creative Development at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Melbourne, and Curator of Contemporary Art at the AGNSW, Sydney. She has also held the positions of Chair, Visual Arts/Craft Board of the Australia Council (2001-2004) and Commissioner of the Australian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (2003).
