Asad Raza
3 – 19 May 2019

ABOUT

From 3 – 19 May 2019, Kaldor Public Art Projects and Carriageworks will present Project 34: Asad Raza, Absorption. The project will be the first time the New York-based artist has presented his work in Australia.

Absorption will take place in the Clothing Store building on the Carriageworks site in Eveleigh, Sydney. Developed in consultation with biologists and environmental scientists, Raza’s Absorption will comprise an installation with organic elements, which will set the scene for collaborations, rituals, and conversations.

During his visits to Australia over the past year, Raza has invited artists to develop initiatives that move the project beyond an individual artist’s vision to a project that evolves and changes throughout its duration. Focussing on dialogue and collaboration, these artist interventions take the form of installations, performances, and experiments.
