It took 60 000 living plants to build a lovable giant puppy by Jeff Koons in 1995, 30-metres of LED to broadcast around 100 000 names in lights for John Baldessari’s 2011 project ….. and it all started with 90 000 square metres of fabric, 56.3 kilometres of rope and over 100 workers and volunteers who wrapped a coastline with Christo and Jeanne-Claude in 1969.
