We are so excited to open Project 28 :Roman Ondák to the public this Friday at Parramatta Town Hall.
As well as three of Ondák’s most exciting artworks, we have a fantastic range of public programs and events planned for this project.
The program includes exciting talks and workshops involving artists, curators and well-known Parramatta identities as well as fun activities for children of all ages.
Each Saturday at 2pm
we will feature stimulating free talks from a range of renowned speakers.
This Saturday 11 January
join Rachel Kent, Chief Curator of the MCA
for a fascinating introduction to Roman Ondák’s work where she will discuss ideas concerning participation, audience and creative agency.
Saturday 18 January
we will be hosting a panel of expert commentators
who will explore the role of performance in visual art.
Join us Sunday to Friday for Talk, Swap, Measure
, a series of lunchtime talks and tours from 1pm. Speakers include Alexie Glass-Kantor, Executive Director of Artspace, and Kyah Simon of the Western Sydney Wanderers!
From Monday 13 January our family programs
will begin, hosted throughout the first week of the exhibition by some wonderful Parramatta based artists.
In the second week of the exhibition, the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP)
will offer a special week-long art and drama workshop
for children ages 8-12.
These workshops are a great way to entertain the kids over the school holidays so book early so you don’t miss out!
This Friday 10 January we’ll be open until 10pm for Sydney Festival’s Parra Opening Party [POP] so head to Parramatta Town Hall for your chance to take a tour of Terrace, Swap an object and make your mark on Measuring the Universe!
All school holiday programs are held onsite at the Project 28 Studio, upstairs at Parramatta Town Hall.
