With sadness, we farewell Project Parlour 25, our night time program that made it's debut as part of Kaldor Public Art Project 25: Thomas Demand's The Dailies.

Featuring brilliant responses to The Dailies by some of Sydney's most inspiring creatives, Project Parlour 25 opened up a diverse range of conversations about Thomas Demand, the themes and techniques explored in his work, The Commercial Travellers' Association building and it's architect Harry Seidler. We were exceptionally lucky to work with our energetic partners: FBi Radio, the University of Technology Sydney School of Design, N, and The Festivalists to create a unique collaboration in the subterranean spaces of the CTA club.

Project Parlour will return with selected future Kaldor Public Art Projects, in a new spaces, exploring the projects themes through new creative experiences.

A collection of performers, DJs, theorists, artists and architects joined forces to reflect creatively on Project 25: Thomas Demand's The Dailies as audiences meandered from the installation upstairs to the happenings on the floors below. The Dopplegänger Parlour performances were curated by Kaldor Public Art Projects; Roundtable, workshops, architectural interventions and films were curated by N; music provided by FBi radio.

Internationally renowned German artist Thomas Demand will present the 25th Kaldor Public Art Project in March 2012. Demand will transform a unique architectural site in the centre of Sydney to present his new works and project The Dailies. This work will be the artist's first public art project working outside a museum environment.

Demand describes his new works as “just a glimpse that starts to create a narrative”, sometimes only by coincidence, “as if time stood still or as if it were the centre of the galaxy”. The project will include collaborations with Miuccia Prada, who has contributed a unique scent for this
new environment, and US author Louis Begley (novels include: ‘Wartime Lies’, ‘The Man Who Was Late’
and ‘About Schmidt’) who has developed a short story for the installation.

Thomas Demand has participated in the Shanghai Biennale (2006), the Venice Biennale (2005), and
represented Germany in the Sao Paulo Biennale (2004); his solo exhibitions have included a mid-career
retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (2005) and most recently, an extensive solo show
was presented at Berlin’s Neue Nationalgalerie (2009-2010) amongst many others; group shows include
Guggenheim Museum, New York; Tate Modern, London; and Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt
amongst many other major international museums.
